Overview
A Drum for Stage, Ceremony, and Classroom
The Tanggu (堂鼓) is one of the most recognizable voices in Chinese percussion. Mounted on a stand and played with two sticks, it produces a balanced, punchy tone that can anchor an ensemble or lead a procession.
Our Tanggu drums are handmade in Matun Village using solid hardwood shells and hand-stretched natural cowhide. Each drum is tuned for clear projection and warm sustain, then finished with traditional lacquer or a custom color to match your ensemble or stage.
- Solid hardwood shell for warm, focused tone
- Natural cowhide head for balanced resonance
- Traditional lacquer finishes with custom color options
- Suitable for opera, orchestra, ceremony, and education
