The waist drum, or 腰鼓, is a small double-headed drum slung at the waist and played with a pair of beaters. Unlike large stationary drums, the waist drum is made to move — the player dances, steps, and strikes at the same time, turning rhythm into a visual performance.

Our waist drums are handmade in Matun Village from light hardwood and natural cowhide, with comfortable straps and matched beaters.
